AVADirect offers a multitude of options, including a motherboard and case, for its Intel X58 chipset-based Custom Gaming PC.According to AVADirect, it ensures its systems are stable before they ship out to customers, and that it will follow up on the phone with customers who make mistakes in their online orders. It also has what it calls its certified systems that offer a more restricted option path, and thus less room for error. Intel is developing Health Guide that will work at home. A small device about the size of a small-form-factor PC, the Health Guide PHS6000 is a small white box with a flip-up 10.4-inch LCD touchscreen, a webcam with privacy shield, and a touchscreen. Inside it is an undisclosed Intel processor and motherboard, together with Bluetooth and four USB ports. The Health Guide requires a broadband connection, which it uses to connect to doctors and healthcare professionals, and to download content onto its small hard drive. Intel has launched its first Nehalem-based Xeon chips for servers and workstations, bringing increased performance and greater power efficiency in the biggest overhaul of the Xeon platform for years. New chips offer greater memory, bandwidth and power efficient processing.Nehalem architecture is a fundamental break from earlier Xeon processors, with an on-chip memory controller supporting a bandwidth of up to 32Gbit/s and Intel's QuickPath Interconnect (QPI) in place of the traditional system bus. Each Nehalem EP chip has two QPI links, one connecting to the system chipset and the other between the two processor sockets in a system. Each is capable of transferring 25Gbit/s. Falcon Northwest's Mach V gaming desktop is a firecracker inside a beautiful aluminum chassis. The Mach V sports a spanking-new (Nehalem-based) Intel Core i7 965 Extreme processor that's been over clocked from 3.2 GHz to 3.8 GHz using only air cooling. Added to this is more RAM than we've ever seen in a desktop machine--a whopping 12GB of DDR3-1066 memory--along with an Intel 80GB solid state drive for booting and a 1-terabyte, 7200-rpm Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000 hard drive for storage.
