Intelligent Robots
No Comments
Remember the world's first robot came out somewhere back in 1961. It was an automated die casting mold that picked hot door handles and other such parts and dropped them into cooling pond at General Motors's assembly lines. That robot spared human hands to touch the hot steel elements. A lot has changed since then. Robotics is a new discipline being taught in universities and researched in laboratories. And development is this fields have reached the stage where scientists are conceiving and engineers are making intelligent robots that can walk around in difficult terrain. What is more, it is being predicted that robots will be integrated with human body in near future and they will take over many tasks being performed by human being.
That brings us to future of robot. Now it is not another crystal gaze but the point is to see where the science of robotics is moving to?
Robots can already can see things, recognize colors, play soccer and dance. Given the similarities in robots and human being – similar body makeup; a muscle system fitted with motors and actuators to move that body makeup; a sensing power to collect information from the surrounding environment; a power source to activate the body; and a computer brain system to process sensed information and tell the body what to do – it is safe to say that robots will take over many functions, except may be matters of heart. What you think?
