Neural Technology Brain Gate
Neural network (also called Neural technology) refer to a network or circuit of biological neurons. Simply put, Neural network connects the human brain to the computer. Given the amount of data created on the Internet, Neural Technology might be the only way to store the mountain of data produced when you can connect your brain directly to the network.Neural Technology is no more science fiction. It is already happening. As per the research published earlier, “a paralyzed man used Neural technology Brain Gate to control a mouse cursor, play a video game, change channels on a television and perform other functions. Brain Gate is an implanted neural sensor, a 4-by-4-millimeter chip with 100 electrodes that sits on the surface of the brain in the area of the motor cortex, interpreting brain signals. Developed by the bio-tech company Cyberkinetics in conjunction with the Department of Neuroscience at Brown University, Mass in 2003, it’s currently in early clinical trials.
The chip uses 96 hair-thin electrodes that sense the electro-magnetic signature of neurons firing in specific areas of the brain. The activity is translated into electrically charged signals and are then sent and decoded using a program, which can move a robotic arm, a computer cursor, or even a wheelchair. According to the Cyberkinetics' website, three patients have been implanted with the Brain Gate system. The company says that one patient has a spinal cord injury, whilst another has advanced ALS. Also with this chip comes the ability to paralysis and vice versa.
Neural Technology coming main stream, it will be a better tool for data analysis. No?
