Let me start this with a personal confession; I haven't used printed users' manuals in years. They still come with almost each product I buy and go straight into the recycling.

Happily it turns out that Internet users can opt out of getting hard copies of users manuals (for example go to the Techno Station – a portal that is amassing all users manuals at one place.

All the environmental chatter is saying that doing searches can help save the environment. Surely the best thing all manufacturers and industrialists could do right now is to drastically slash the number of manuals printed on paper by asking exactly who requires them. My guess is that it would be very small number of the households who would still want users’ manuals in hard copies.

The 2010 Karma - world's first true premium plug-in hybrid sports sedan – is beautiful; like a jet engine spooling up. The Karma features two operating modes - Stealth Mode and Sport Mode. In electric only Stealth Mode, users can drive emission free for up to 50 miles on a full electric charge. Once the 50 mile electric range has been exceeded, the car operates as a normal hybrid vehicle. This balance of electric and gas range makes it entirely possible that Karma drivers who charge their car overnight and commute less than 50 miles a day will achieve an average fuel economy of 100 mpg (2.4L/100km) per year. For distances of up to 300 miles, users can choose Sport Mode, which relies on a small gasoline engine to turn the generator that charges the lithium ion battery pack. The Los Angeles Auto Show is one of the major auto shows around the world. I addition to more than 1,000 cars, trucks and SUVs on display, the Green Car of the Year award was presented in the Show this year.
