Holding this door defeats its purpose — it's the world's first energy-producing revolving door. Installed during railway station renovation in The Netherlands, a generator is driven by the human energy applied to the door. Supercapacitors store energy and supply the LED lights in the transparent ceiling. Energy savings of 4,600 kWh/year are expected, just by going in circles.
