The N96 is longer and a bit slimmer than N95 8GB though it gives a look of a bigger version of the N81. New Nokia N96 reminds one of the N95 8GB; however, unlike the 95, there are as many as 11 keys on the D-pad. You need to get used to smaller keys. The N96 2.8-inch is a treat of a screen and the excellent picture is a perfect complement to its generous size. The contrast too is commendable, remaining perfectly legible even in direct sunlight.
